This is a very unique specialized hand injected bait that has the profile and the general swimming action of a mature jumping jack (Istiblennius Zebra) which are found in the tide pools, rocks, and structures at the water’s edge in subtropical and tropical areas worldwide. The Hawaiian name for the jumping jack is pāoʻo. The jumping jack is one of the favorite foods of moi, papio (both large and small), the occasional ulua, some of the larger goat fish, and other predatory fish in Hawaii. This unique lure as it moves through the water it pushes water, wiggles, and vibrates through the water; and as the result, it attracts the attention of predators and takes strikes. This bait catches fish.
